The Long Awaited Dishwasher Post

The people have spoken! A new blog shall be written. It wasn't that hard was it? No. Just a stop by and say, "hey, I read the blog and think you are the best!" That's all, I am not looking for some sort of high praise or anything. Anyway, I have an observation I would like to pass along to the masses of GC. Actually, two.

1) Do the people who invent/ design dishwashers actually ever try and put dishes in them? Or do they just come up with a design that looks like it will hold dishes, bowls, cups, utensils, etc? I have yet to find a dishwasher that can hold my bowls straight up, instead they fall over on each other blocking out the powerful scrubbing bubbles of my brand name dishwasher detergent (whatever that means?). The only thing that works at all is the utensil holder. Which, in reality, is nothing more than a series of mesh boxes. I mean a genius it does not take to figure that one out. I think the standard for really great inventions will be the dishwasher that can really hold ANY type of dish. My suggestions is adjustable/ removable little holders. So, that if you wanted to wash giant pots and pans (cuz you're lazy like me, when it comes to washing dishes) that you could remove or adjust the holders. Or if you had a thousand plates and cups and bowls, you could adjust them as needed. Genius! It's a shame really, that some of the greatest ideas are locked up in the Kingdom of God. We need to start releasing our ideas into every arena of life. Even the "insignificant" ones.

2) This second observation is in relation to this past week's message. Don't live ordinary this week. Do something just oustide of ordinary. Do something extra-ordinary! Invite somebody to become extraordinary by giving their life to Jesus.

  • My whole life we've never had a working dishwasher, and there's 6 people in our family, (currently 7) four of which are boys that eat quite a bit. I think pulling a dish out that has a little piece of goulosh on it and rinsing it off is much simpler than washing 2 and a 1/2 sink loads of dishes every night. (just a thought;)

By the way, "hey I read your blog, I think you are the best!" (No, really. Update soon.)

  • I am in agreement with the anonymous statement above because I grew up in a very similar situation.

Also, after GC last week I had the opportunity to experience an ordinary situation that produced extraordinary results. Anyone who wants to know about this, see my blog post. (HINT:It has the words "ordinary" and "extraordinary" in its title.)
